Meet the 2018 Golden Key Executive Committee!
With the new year coming in, the Golden Key Executive Committee
has been elected to lead the Swinburne Chapter for 2018 and champion the three pillars
of Golden Key: academics, leadership and community. With their diverse talents
and great enthusiasm, they are motivated to lead through helping students, staff,
businesses and the community strive for success.
Phillip Nguyen | President
An interesting fact, a social doubles tennis player and with
Wimbledon swinging in, there is much to learn from the traditions in playing on
grass courts. With studies aligned to business operational and logistic
management processes coupled with his experiences in the higher education
industry, he is driven to reach new heights in an evolving world. One can only
marvel, when new history is created between world leaders and with my
committee, our vision for the Golden Key chapter is to continue with using
forward thinking approaches and to turn the knowing into know-how. We wish to
contribute to the Swinburne chapter in maintaining the highest GK standards and
to ensure that the three pillars of academic, leadership and service leads to
unlocking our potential.
Kevin Tuyau | Co-Vice President
I have been on the committee for 8 years. I started as Secretary and worked my way up to President. Currently I'm Vice President. GK has given me a great opportunity to develop my leadership skills and travel the world, as I represent the chapter at various conferences. I have degrees in Business, IT and Media. I'm using those skills to help the chapter and run my own business. At home I am a movie and TV buff. I also collect retro games. My two cats compete to see who can sit on the laptop as I type.

Arpit Bhatt | Co-Vice President
I am an international student from India, currently pursuing
Master in Construction and Infrastructure Management from Swinburne University
of Technology. I received recognition from Golden Key in April this year for
academic excellence. As I discovered what it was all about, I
enthusiastically wanted to be a part of it. Although I excelled in academics, I
wanted to hone my leadership, communication skills and teamwork and Golden Key Society
is a fantastic opportunity to polish all of them. I wanted to
contribute to the society through organising various community service events
throughout the year to try and make a difference in the regular society.
I am currently the Co-Vice President of the 2018 Golden Key Swinburne Chapter
committee. I feel proud and humbled to be part of an amazing committee and will
continue to contribute to the Swinburne GK chapter in every possible way.
Carlo Sinay | Treasurer
I am currently studying engineering and computer science specialising in robotics, mechatronics and games development and an active volunteer at Swinburne as a mentor and study aide. I was invited to join the GK Society at the end of 2015. I signed up to join the GK Swinburne’s Chapter Committee in late 2016 out of curiosity and in the next year saw an opportunity to extend my skill set to include finance management through this role as Treasurer.

Prathamesh Shiram | Secretary and Professional Development Officer
‘Engineer by day food blogger by night’ is what defines me. Being
good at cooking and mixology, I started blogging my recipes right after high
school days. Later, I went on to pursue mechanical engineering with a diploma
in business management as the undergraduate study which inspired me to undertake
Engineering Management as a part of my graduate study at Swinburne. During this
journey at Swinburne, I was fortunate enough to become a part of the Golden Key
Honour Society and later, the secretary for the Swinburne chapter. The
opportunity and exposure Golden key provides you with, is both exciting and beneficial for your career development.
Come join us and together we shall create something great!
Emily Elliott | Intellectual Engagement Officer
I am currently studying Interior Architecture. My ultimate goal is
to be an interior architect within the global community and contribute ideas
and architectural solutions that benefit humanity. I got involved with
Swinburne’s Golden Key Chapter to increase my ability to communicate across
disciplines and enhanced my sense of global social empathy, responsibility, and
push myself beyond my studies. As a physically disabled woman, I aim to break
down barriers and contribute my determination with others via the use of
design, communication and sharing a different point of view. I enjoy working in
teams, organising events and learning from those around me.
Currently
studying Media and Communications, majoring in Digital Advertising Technology
and working as a Marketing and Communications Intern with Medibank, I am very
excited to be a part of the Golden Key Society. Having the privilege of holding
a position in the leadership committee is certainly a wonderful way to give
back and make lasting connections with students, staff and the
community. My main passion is creating marketing content with a positive
message that inspires others to do their best and what better platform to do
this than through the Golden Key Society.
I am an international student studying Civil Engineering at Swinburne University. I joined Golden Key Honour Society in 2017 and wanted to
be a part of the committee this year. The main reasons I wanted to join the
committee is that this society is known by very few people and many people
are not aware of its advantages. Therefore, being in the committee it is needed
to to raise awarenress of their work and guide them through the benefits of the
society.
When I was a little girl, one of the most frequent things, I would ask my parents to buy me art boxes; they are a one-box-contains-all set for colouring and drawing. I would colour and draw on every surface a child's little hands could reach. My passion for art and design drive me to pursue Bachelor of Design, Communication Design major at Swinburne. I am a full-time student, but I also do projects around company branding and product branding. I joined the Golden Key committee because I like to connect with people and I want to gain new experiences outside of the design world. During my period as a committee, I hope to expand my network even further and contribute to the community.
